  • Ravi Kumar, from north India, is only 24 inches tall and weighs just 15.4lbs (7kg)

A 25-year-old man stopped growing aged five due to a rare condition and now has to be carried around by his mother.

Ravi Kumar is only 24 inches tall and weighs just 15.4lbs (7kg) and is believed to be one of the smallest adults in India.

Kumar, who comes from Jhansi, in the northern Uttar Pradesh state, is the only member of his family with a growth deficiency.

His family said they had taken him to a doctor as a young child, after he stopped growing physically when he was five years old.

His mother, who now carries him around on her hip, said they learned he was suffering a ‘thyroid disease’ that stunted his growth.
