Chennai Super Kings registered a sublime win against Mumbai Indians on Sunday CSK clinched a 20-run victory at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It was an all-round team performance from CSK with several individuals rising to the occasion and helping the reigning champions bag their fourth win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season against MI. CSK, under the leadership of Ruturaj, have so far claimed eight points from six games in the IPL 2024 season. On Monday, Ruturaj’s wife, Utkarsha Pawar shared a post uploaded by CSK. In the post, Ruturaj can be seen shaking hands with Rohit Sharma. Later, the CSK skipper also shared the Instagram post with the popular song One Love.

Having created quite a rage amongst the youth at the time of its release, the song One Love continues to remain a fan-favourite from the English boy band, Blue.

Ruturaj Gaikwad lost the toss and MI skipper Hardik Pandya sent CSK in to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium, where teams batting second usually enjoy a lot of success. Surprisingly, the newly appointed CSK skipper did not open the innings with Rachin Ravindra as Ajinkya Rahane earned a promotion. The move backfired as Rahane returned to the pavilion after scoring just five runs. In came Ruturaj, who was the top scorer of CSK in the fixture against MI.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was involved in a match-winning partnership for the third wicket with Shivam Dube as the duo put up 90 runs on the board to lay the foundation for a big finish. Ruturaj was eventually dismissed by Hardik Pandya for 69, but it came in real quick time as he faced 40 balls.

In reply, MI got off to a blistering start courtesy of openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. The former eventually went on to record his century, but his efforts went in vain as the hosts succumbed to a 20-run defeat. It was MI’s fourth defeat of the season in six games.

Ahead of IPL 2024, MS Dhoni left the fans baffled with his decision to step down as captain and hand over the role to Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has shown that he can be a dependable captain, leading CSK to four victories in six games. Ruturaj’s in-game acumen was on display against the MI as his bowling changes turned the tide of the game in CSK’s favour.
