Senate, NBI, CIDG serve arrest warrant vs Quiboloy

MANILA, Philippines — Fugitive Apollo Quiboloy has been served an arrest warrant by officers of the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms (OSSA).

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group yesterday assisted OSSA in serving the warrant but they failed to locate Quiboloy in four of his registered properties in Davao.

As this developed, police have tapped intelligence operatives in the manhunt against the controversial pastor.

Brig. Gen. Alden Delvo, Davao region police director, yesterday said intelligence officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police (PNP) joined forces to arrest Quiboloy, who is wanted for a child abuse case.

Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ ministry, went into hiding after a Davao City court issued warrants for his arrest, as well as five of his followers, on charges of sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Quiboloy is also facing charges of qualified human trafficking before a court in Pasig City.

Despite efforts by tracker teams from the PNP and NBI, Quiboloy continues to elude arrest.

Delvo said they visited Quiboloy’s properties in Davao City and Samal Island, but the preacher could not be found. — Emmanuel Tupas
