A woman has wowed fellow DIY enthusiasts after unveiling her council house’s, revealing her stunning tropical bathroom makeover cost less than £300.
Even though many are looking after their pennies in the midst of the cost-of-living crisis, one avid decorator has showed you don’t need to break the bank to give your house a new lease of life.
Carol Folan from Stonehaven revealed her bathroom’s ‘maximalist’ makeover to Facebook, leaving several users stunned.
Sharing various snaps of her new lavatory, the DIY enthusiast revitalised the room using budget finds from Etsy, Temu and various shops on the high street, which in total was less than £300.
Posting the images to DIY On A Budget Official, a group with 2.2 million members, the single mother said:

‘Love my new bathroom,’ adding: ‘[It’s] council so I can’t change the shower or wet wall.’
In an interview with Fabulous, the mother from Stoneham confessed she purchased the striking mirrored cabinet from Argos.
Elaborating on where she picked up other items in her striking bathroom, Carol said both her toilet seat and sink cupboard were purchased from Wayfair.
Amazon also came in handy when trying to find the perfect ode-mode tropical wallpaper for her new at-home tropical paradise according to the mother.
But Carol didn’t only find bargains online to help kit out her new bathroom, she also took the old fashioned route – heading straight to the high street.
In doing so, she managed to nab some animal print hand towels from Zara to match her funky wallpaper, as well as a chic black vase from B&Q.

To top off the bright and colourful bathroom, Carol made sure her bathroom was smelling as lovely as it looks, nabbing room spray and scent diffuser from Sainsbury’s as well as a soap dispenser from The Range.
The single mother’s sensational budget revamp, left fellow crafters in awe of her talents.
‘Love, love, love it,’ exclaimed one group member, as another chimed in: ‘Outstanding!!!’
A third penned: ‘Absolutely gorgeous,’ whilst another admired the ‘beautiful’ lavatory.
At the same time, another DIY fan beamed: ‘Absolutely gorgeous!
‘Loving the maximalist look everyone has right now. RIP Hinch grey,’ quipped one DIY fan.
Responding to the compliments, Carol eventually replied: ‘Thanks everyone, I’m usually so boring.’
