Xbox Game Pass Adds Chaotic Game With ‘Very Positive’ Reviews
- Maneater is now available on Xbox Game Pass.
- The open-world ARPG lets players wreak havoc on a revenge-fueled quest.
- This is the 13th February addition to Xbox Game Pass, with two more titles being set to reach the service before month’s end.
The Xbox Game Pass catalog has expanded to include Maneater, a highly chaotic ARPG about disrupting the food chain in the bloodiest manner imaginable. This is the 13th title to reach Xbox Game Pass in February.
Developed by Roswell, Georgia-based Tripwire Interactive, Maneater stars a female bull shark on a quest to take revenge on a shark hunter who killed her mother and left herself disfigured while she was a wee pup. The game was released in 2020 to a decent response from players and critics alike, with many reviewers praising Maneater for its vast open world and addictive gameplay loop revolving around unlocking a wide variety of upgrades that help the bull shark get incrementally better at eating everything from people to boats.

Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Should Keep an Eye on March 5
Next Tuesday, March 5 is shaping up to be a big day for subscribers of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service across PC and consoles.
Maneater has now been added to Microsoft’s subscription library just three months shy of its four-year release anniversary. It joins a dozen other titles that have already reached Xbox Game Pass in February, and is already available across all tiers of the service as of the early morning hours ET on February 27. Its Xbox Game Pass debut coincides with a generous sale that currently allows Steam users to grab Maneater at $12.59, or 65% off. Speaking of Valve’s storefront, this chaotic game currently has over 10,000 user recommendations to its name, thus being above Steam’s “Very Positive” review threshold.

The PC and console editions of EA’s football sim were already added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on February 8. PC Game Pass members also have access to Madden NFL 24 and many other EA Play titles as part of their subscriptions.

Two more titles are confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass before the end of the month. The first of those is Lab Zero’s hand-drawn side-scrolling ARPG Indivisible, which is scheduled to reach the service on February 28. A day later, Microsoft’s content library will also receive Space Engineers, a sandbox game about conquering space through engineering ingenuity.
Microsoft has been averaging one new Xbox Game Pass title every two days throughout February. That’s quite an impressive release pace even by the subscription platform’s high content standards. And while this momentum might be difficult to maintain in the long term, it could certainly continue for a while yet, not least because Xbox Game Pass already has a handful of confirmed games for March.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the highest tier of Microsoft’s flagship game subscription service that offers over 100 game titles that you can play with a single purchase, making it one of the most outstanding value propositions of the Xbox ecosystem to date.
