RM350,000 has been donated to mosques and surau in Ayer Hitam, says Dr Wee
PETALING JAYA: A donation of RM350,000 has been channelled to 31 mosques and four surau within the Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency, says its MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
Dr Wee, who is also MCA president, said the donation handover ceremony was held on Sunday (Jan 14) at the Pekan Lapis Khalid Mosque grounds in Ayer Hitam.
“After Asar (evening prayers), Semarang assemblyman Datuk Samsol Bari Jamali, Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tian Soon and I completed the donation handover ceremony.
“This cash donation is to enable each mosque to carry out religious and welfare activities in their respective villages,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Dr Wee added that throughout 2023, he had allocated more than RM1mil to all mosques and surau within his parliamentary constituency, adding that he is committed and consistent in helping the development of the houses of worship.
“This tradition has been maintained since I was elected as an MP in 2004,” he said.
