The Flight Attendant, the Max drama series starring Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory fame, is officially over for good.
Based on a novel of the same name, The Flight Attendant was initially an eight-episode miniseries that aired at the end of 2020.
After being showered with acclaim for Kaley’s performance, the show got picked up for a second season, which ran in the spring of 2022.
Since then, however, rumors have been swirling that the program has come to a close, particularly after Kaley remarked that the ‘plane has landed’ for the storyline.
This Friday, a report in Deadline finally confirmed to crestfallen fans that The Flight Attendant will not be receiving a third season.

The plot of season one kicks off when Kaley’s character Cassie has a one-night stand with a first class passenger called Alex Sokolov in Bangkok – only to wake up the next morning and discover his corpse beside her, his throat slashed.
Sokolov’s murder sends Cassie’s chaotic, alcoholic character into a string of whirlwind misadventures that ultimately get her entangled in the spy world.
In May 2022, after the end of season two, Kaley revealed that she was not particularly keen on continuing the series – but that she was in the minority.
‘Now, I’m like: “Well, we did two. We should probably be done.” And I think I’ve been outnumbered with that thought,’ she informed People.
‘There’s definitely interest in doing a third season. I think for me, at this moment, the plane has landed,’ remarked the Brandy & Mrs. Whiskers actress.
Although she ‘could possibly get back in it’ later on, she shared that for the moment ‘I need a minute. I just kind of feel like we just ended.’
She teased: ‘Some of my favorite shows on TV take some time to come back, and then I get very excited about a new season. I want to make sure that the fans are excited and that we’re not pushing it too hard.’
Kaley served as one of the producers of the series, as well as leading a cast that included Zosia Mamet, Rosie Perez and Cheryl Hines.

She was nominated for two Golden Globes and an Emmy for her performance on The Flight Attendant, but did not end up winning.
On the personal front, Kaley is dating the dashing actor Tom Pelphrey, whose work includes David Fincher’s film Mank and the acclaimed Netflix series Ozark.
Tom and Kaley went public with their relationship in May 2022, and last March they welcomed a bouncing baby girl together called Matilda.
She previously had two brief marriages – to pro tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016, and to equestrian Karl Cook from 2018 to 2022.
