Hillel Ontario's CEO reacts to U of T encampment
Our concern really isn’t seeing this in the context of what’s been happening since October 7th and before is that there’s the potential for Jewish students and other students not to be able to participate fully in university life. That they won’t be able to attend classes and that they won’t be able to take their exams. That they won’t be able to convict safely. And that is the universities responsibility to ensure that all students are able to do that regardless of their background, regardless of their identity. There’s violent rhetoric that’s being spread on, you know, the the violent language that’s used in some of the chalk scrolling’s over up against the green that some of the things that call for kind of resistance for say, you know, support for the resistance. If we if we’re taking that as what happened on October 7th, that’s violent destruction and eliminationist language when it comes to Jews and it comes to the state of Israel.
