Head of Presidential Office reveals Ukraine's expectations from Peace Summit and threats from Russia

Ukraine expects that the first peace summit will achieve several results. One of them is the acknowledgment of the necessity to stop the war, states Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.
Expectations from the summit
Yermak was asked what Kyiv expects from the first meeting on the Ukrainian peace formula at the level of leaders (peace summit).
“First, it is a clear acknowledgment that the war must be stopped. It is necessary to return a fair peace to Ukraine, to restore respect for international law and the UN Charter,” Yermak said.
According to him, Kyiv also expects consolidation from responsible countries regarding further support for Ukraine.
Yermak added that all responsible countries are currently interested in ending the war in Ukraine and resolving the crises provoked by Russia’s actions.
“Today, as the war in Ukraine shows, the world is very small. And today, it (the war) has a huge impact on all countries, on all continents. It affects food security, nuclear security, ecology, and humanitarian issues,” the Head of the Presidential Office noted.
Russia may disrupt the summit
According to Yermak, the Russian leadership intends to disrupt the Ukraine peace summit by any means.
“They are working with countries, politicians, their narratives, and the media. We realize that these six weeks will be difficult in our work. But we are not afraid of them,” he added.
Peace summit
In June, Ukraine will host the first Global Peace Summit, which will be attended by leaders of several countries. The exact list of countries participating in the event is currently unknown.
Switzerland will assist in organizing the meeting – the summit will take place at the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock.
