Hassan Constituency of Karnataka Lok Sabha Election 2024: Date of voting, result, candidates list, main parties, schedule
NEW DELHI: The Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, situated in Karnataka’s southern region, holds a significant place in Indian politics. The constituency, which includes the entire Hassan district and Kaduru Taluk in Chikmagaluru district, was represented by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda from 1991 to 1994, 1998 to 1999, and again from 2004 to 2014.
As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach, the electorate of Hassan is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to exercise their democratic right. The prominent candidates vying for the seat include Prajwal Revanna from the NDA, and M Shreyas Patel from the Indian National Congress. The voting for the Hassan Lok Sabha Constituency Election 2024 is scheduled for April 26th (Phase 2), with the counting and announcement of results set for June 4th.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Prajwal Revanna of the JD(S) emerged victorious, securing 676,606 votes, while Manju A of the BJP received 535,282 votes, losing by a margin of 141,324 votes. In the previous election held in 2014, H.D. Devegowda of the JD(S) won the seat with 509,841 votes, while Manju A. of the INC secured 409,379 votes. The Hassan parliamentary constituency had a total of 1,561,486 registered electors in 2014.
