SCATTERED rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Caraga and Davao in Mindanao due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.
Caraga, Davao region to have rain showers, thunderstorms
Weather specialist Robert “Obet” Badrina said the LPA has a slim chance of entering the country.
“In fact, we are no longer expecting any tropical cyclone until the end of the month or until over the weekend,” he said.
In its 5 a.m. advisory, Pagasa said the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring overcast skies with light rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.
The same weather system is affecting Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains may prevail in the next 24 hours.
“Generally, we would have fair weather conditions while cold nights and mornings would continue to be experienced due to amihan probably until next month,” Badrina said.
