Hailstones the size of baseballs seen in Texas during severe storms
Right this morning, parts of the country are picking up the pieces after a devastating week of severe weather and dozens of tornadoes. And it is not over yet. Some areas are bracing for another round of storms, and NBC News correspondent Priscilla Thompson joins us now from Dallas. Good morning. Yeah, Christine, good morning. It was another night of severe weather for millions across the South, capping off this week of devastating storms here, with people waking up this morning hoping for some relief. The latest round of severe storms causing widespread damage, Pummeling 1000 mile stretch from Kansas to North Carolina. You just run. You just run for safety. And then it’s over in just a matter of moments for so many memories buried and lives lost, The latest storms blamed for at least three deaths in one community. Prayers for a miracle inspired him. Heal him. Make him whole. 9 year old Asher Sullivan fighting for his life. The boy in critical condition after getting caught in a storm drain outside Nashville in Texas. An ominous storm system quickly turning day into night. Baseball sized hail battering parts of the state. While in Georgia residents are still reeling from tornadoes touching down earlier in the week. All the lightning, the rain, the wind, it was just insane. Couldn’t even really hear my wife who was right next to me. Terrifying twisters in Alabama leveling homes there too. I laid down on top of my babies and just started praying for God to save us. At one point, nearly 200,000 homes were without power in the South. Communities now hoping there is an end insight after so much heartache at the hands of Mother Nature. And storms are expected to continue today from Louisiana and Georgia down to Florida, with 7 million people at risk for severe weather, including those damaging high winds.
