Government payment of up to €1,450 available if you meet these two conditions
Even with inflation rates at their lowest in three years, it is still proving difficult for many individuals to afford household expenses with their current weekly income
The government is making a once-off payment to people struggling to contend with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, and you could receive up to €1,450 if you meet two requirements.
With prices of household bills, insurance and groceries all skyrocketing in recent times, a helping hand is the least that people need to survive what feels like a relentless financial onslaught coming from all angles.
Even though inflation rates are at their lowest in three years, they are still higher than what is acceptable, and that is where the Additional Needs Payment scheme comes in to help, as RSVP Live writes.
The payment has been introduced to supplement the income of individuals struggling to make ends meet when their weekly income does not cover the spiralling expenses of late.
When people apply for the scheme, their application will be assessed by a Community Welfare Officer (CWO) in order to accurately determine their circumstances to decide if they qualify.
There will be some exceptions made, however, with the government stating that the CWO will be given the power to grant the payment even to those whose income exceeds the weekly income limit.
Amounts payable include €1,450, €1,200 and €700.
