There’s always a handful of head coaches who lose their jobs at the end of every NFL season. While the new league year hasn’t even started yet, it’s inevitable that some of the head coaches currently working will be unemployed come “Black Monday” in 2025.
So who are the coaches that The Spun thinks are going to be looking for new work next year?
Here are five that we settled on:
New Orleans Saints – OUT: Dennis Allen, IN: Ben Johnson

Rejoice, Saints fans, while you may not get to watch your own team play in the Super Bowl in your team, at least you get the satisfaction of seeing Allen finally get shown the door after yet another disappointing season in an otherwise winnable division.
The man replacing him will be someone who actually knows a thing or two about running a modern NFL offense.
New York Jets – OUT: Robert Saleh, IN: Mike Kafka

The Jets are hinging their playoff hopes on Aaron Rodgers not only returning to full health from an Achilles injury, but playing well enough to lead them into the postseason amid a brutally difficult conference to make an impact in.
Saleh is doomed.
But general manager Joe Douglas might get a stay of execution, and if he does, he stays inside the city limits to find Saleh’s replacement: Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.
Dallas Cowboys – OUT: Mike McCarthy, IN: Bill Belichick

After yet another strong season that ends in playoff disappointment, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones fires McCarthy, swallows his pride and brings in the only coach in the world with more Super Bowl rings than his entire franchise’s storied history: Bill Belichick.
Whether or not Belichick is able to do what nobody since Barry Switzer has done remains to be seen, but he’ll get his chance in Big D to prove that he can win one without Tom Brady.
New York Giants – OUT: Brian Daboll, IN: Mike Vrabel

If the magic has truly worn off of the Giants’ superb 2022 season and 2024 is more like 2023, then both New York City football teams will be looking for new head coaches.
Since Daboll might not be the culture changer that the Giants are looking for, they might find one in Vrabel, who appears to be taking the year off after a superb run with the Tennessee Titans.
Philadelphia Eagles – OUT: Nick Sirianni, IN: Eric Bieniemy

Are the Philadelphia Eagles really going to oust a head coach just two years after he led them to a Super Bowl? It’s not like they haven’t done it before…
If the Eagles continue to regress this coming season and miss the playoffs – and there’s a chance that they do – the Eagles pull the plug on Sirianni and bring in another respected offensive mind with Super Bowl experience: A certain newly-minted UCLA offensive coordinator and two-time Super Bowl champion.
