WHO WILL CAPTAIN THE BOKS?

Meanwhile, Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus has yet to reveal who will captain the South African squad for upcoming fixtures.

Like many other players, current captain Siya Kolisi is tied up at various clubs around the world.

According to IOL, he will miss out on South Africa’s game against Wales in Twickenham in June due to contractual obligations.

Planet Rugby states that Rassie will not select any players based in France and England for the game.

According to Rassie, Siya’s future as captain of the squad is also up in the air.

He said in a press conference last month: “Siya is playing some of his best rugby, but I prefer to have my captain locally based as that allows for more interaction.

“This is a unique situation, and I think he [Kolisi] will play some Test matches. He certainly wants to, but we are not sure about the captaincy.”

Siya responded to Rassie’s comments during a Racing 92 media briefing.

He said: “That’s normal. I knew that before making the decision to come here.

“He (Erasmus) speaks, and he says this is the situation. It is what it is. There’s nothing I can do about that.
