Girl, 17, reveals how she found out her dad was CHEATING on her mom with a woman 20 years his junior - as he moves his new wife and love child into the family home just months after the teen's mother died from cancer

A young woman has taken to Reddit share her disturbing situation in the wake of her mother’s recent death from cancer.

The user, who is 17, shared that she had lost her mom within the past year – but mere months after the loss, her dad, 45, had married a 25-year-old, and moved his new wife and her five-year-old son into the family home.

What’s worse, the original poster – OP for short – further discovered that the new wife had been her dad’s affair partner throughout her mom’s three-year cancer battle, and that the five-year-old was in fact her half-brother.

Dismissing the lingering grief from the loss of OP’s mom, the new wife immediately attempted to butt in on OP’s life and tried to christen herself as the ‘new mom,’ despite being less than a decade older than than her.

OP elaborated on the infuriating situation on the TwoHotTakes subreddit in a post titled ‘I told my dad’s wife that I want nothing to do with her and her affair baby.’

In the post, she added that, prior to her mom’s death, her parents were starting to go through divorce proceedings, but she ‘never knew why.’

About seven months later, her dad moved the new woman and her five-year-old son into the family home, and the pair tied the knot shortly after.

‘She came in acting like she ran the place, she wanted all of my mom’s things out and I went ballistic saying that she’s not coming in here throwing away anything of my moms,’ OP recounted in disgust.

‘I told them when I go to college I will rent out a storage unit and then I can move it in there but for now it’s staying in her room (she had a separate room that she would go to after chemo appointments and like I said, my mom and dad were in the mess up a divorce so they were not sleeping in the same room).’

A few months after the wife had moved in, OP was going through her mom’s things when she found evidence that the mom had hired a private investigator to look into whether the dad had been cheating.

On discovering this, she realized in horror that her dad had been carrying on the affair for six years ‘and he was cheating on [my mom] while she was battling cancer.’

The teen further explained that the new wife has been ‘trying to get me to do things with her, she’s also tried to force me to watch her son and tries to pass it off as “sibling bonding time”‘ – which OP largely pushed back on.

Making matters worse, OP described that her dad’s new wife wanted to immediately dispose of her mom’s things as well as take her place as her the new mom of the family

What’s more, before her mom had died, the two were planning a trip around the world before the teen left for college – but, when the mom’s death appeared imminent, had arranged for OP’s aunt to take the trip with her instead.

As the student is graduating from high school this May, the trip with her aunt is coming up fast.

When the new wife caught wind of OP’s plans, she called a ‘family meeting’ and demanded to take over the trip planning from the aunt, as well as go on the trip instead.

‘She said… that she’ll go with me because she’s my “mom now” and this would be good bonding for me, her son, and myself,’ OP described.

‘I shut it down immediately. I told her that this is a trip to honor my mother… my only mother because I had one and I’m not looking for another one, I told her that she’s not coming because I don’t want anything to do with her or her affair baby, so stop trying to force it into my life.

‘My dad asked me why I was acting this way and why I won’t give her a chance.

‘I told him that she’s young enough to be my sister and I don’t want anything to do with the person he was cheating on my mother with nor do I want anything to do with the baby he had on my mother while she was battling cancer,’ OP described of her standing up to her dad and his former-mistress-turned-new-wife.

‘He tried to tell me I wouldn’t understand what it’s like to be married to someone who was dealing with cancer and I asked him “Is it as bad as actually dealing with cancer and then finding out your partner is cheating on you and has a secret baby?” (It’s their kid, he’s my half brother).

‘He blew up at me and said I have no right to speak to him or his wife this way, and that I will be part of this family and I will be taking his wife on the trip. I told him once again no I’m not. I’m taking my aunt and he can’t do anything about it because I’ll be 18 before the trip,’ she declared.

Hundreds took to the comments to express sympathy for the situation – as well as offer advice and encouragement to OP

Other Reddit users soon flooded the comments in support of the teenage girl, with many praising her maturity given the devastating situation – and many more expressing scorn for the father and his new wife.

‘Is there any possibility you can move in with your aunt and take your mom’s things with you? Your dad is living in some fantasy land where everyone is going to live happily ever after,’ one assessed of the circumstances.

A man claiming to be a 45-year-old father to a 19- and 20-year-old wrote among other things: ‘I will say that if by some gross set of circumstances I was in a similar position as your father, there is no way that I would allow the new woman in my life to call herself mom or touch any of your actual mother’s things.

‘Your father should be helping to enforce your boundaries in this situation, not helping somebody else walk on them,’ he seethed.

‘Your father has absolutely betrayed you in this instance. I’m sorry that you’re going through this and I’m disgusted that you’re father is in the current state of mind that he’s in,’ the dad-of-two continued.

He concluded: ‘I don’t know how I’d be able to look myself in the mirror with all of the shame that your father should be feeling right now. Take care.’

A third shared a story of how his friend got revenge in the aftermath of a similar situation: ‘I have a friend that had his dad cheat on his mom when he was 12. Dad married the affair partner and 20 years later, my friend only refers to her as “side piece.”

‘If he calls their house and she answers he will say hello Side Piece, can I talk to my cheating dad? Hilarious. They both get angry but what did they expect.’

Another chimed in emphasizing the ‘delusion’ of the mistress-turned-wife: ‘Had to laugh out loud reading that your father’s wife-mistress, who is only eight years older than you, decided she’s your mother now. Just… wow. The delusion is strong with that one.

‘I wish you all the best. Glad your aunt is in your corner. We aunts can be quite ferocious protecting our nieces,’ they concluded.
