Moscovo, 02 mai 2024 (Lusa) – A Gazprom, grupo estatal do gás russo, anunciou hoje prejuízos recorde de 6,4 mil milhões de euros no ano passado, num contexto de quase encerramento do mercado europeu e de sabotagem dos gasodutos Nord Stream.

Segundo os números publicados pelo grupo produtor de gás natural, o prejuízo líquido em 2023 ascendeu a 629 mil milhões de rublos em relação aos lucros líquidos de 1.226 mil milhões de rublos registados em 2022.

Os resultados traduzem as dificuldades enfrentadas por esta empresa pilar da economia russa e que foi alvo de sanções ocidentais sem precedentes há mais de dois anos, devido à ofensiva da Rússia na Ucrânia.

O gigante do gás foi fortemente afetado pela determinação demonstrada pelos europeus em anular a dependência energética de Moscovo. Os europeus eram o principal cliente estrangeiro antes da ofensiva iniciada pelos russos em fevereiro de 2022.

A sabotagem dos gasodutos Nord Stream 1 e 2, em setembro de 2022, paralisou praticamente o fornecimento de gás russo à União Europeia e desde então que a Gazprom tem tentado encontrar novos clientes, mas enfrenta falta de infraestruturas, cuja construção é dispendiosa e demorada, para transportar gás para a Ásia.

Com as maiores reservas mundiais de gás natural, o grande grupo estatal russo gere ainda uma forte pressão orçamental sem ter acesso a financiamento internacional e deve assumir um projeto de extensão da sua rede de distribuição de gás doméstico.

Perante estas dificuldades, o grupo pode, no entanto, contar com a importância crescente do gasoduto Força da Sibéria 1, no Extremo Oriente russo, em direção à China.
