- Peyton Chimack, from Bartlett, Illinois, took to TikTok to share her grievances
- The 22-year-old began the post by sharing a snapshot of her ‘inspo pic’
- She then showcased the cake she received – and the end result was shocking
A furious customer has slammed a Walmart bakery after realizing staff had made a disastrous frosting fail on her birthday cake.
Peyton Chimack, from Bartlett, Illinois, took to TikTok to air her grievances about a personalized birthday cake she requested from the chain.
The now 22-year-old began by sharing a snapshot of her ‘inspo pic’ which featured a vanilla-frosted sweet treat topped with a scroll of black piped lettering.
She then showcased the cake that she had actually received – and the end result was shocking.
Peyton Chimack, from Bartlett, Illinois, began by sharing a photo of her ‘inspo pic’ (seen) which featured a vanilla-frosted sweet treat topped with a scroll of black piped lettering
She then showcased the cake that she had actually received – and the end result (seen) was shocking, with staff writing out her exact instructions across the sweet treat
Peyton shared the original image alongside a caption that read: ‘My inspo pic. I asked for the writing to be small, cursive, and in the middle of the cake…’
But she got quite the shock when she opened the box to see the finished product.
Her cake had similar frosting but the piped letters quite literally read: ‘Aries Baby (small cursive middle of cake).’
Peyton’s overlaid text simply said: ‘Walmart, wtf is this???’
Elaborating further in the caption, she wrote: ‘When I tell you my mouth dropped when I got in the car and opened up the cake. They did not write the instructions on the cake.’
And her insight was quickly flooded with comments from equally stunned viewers.
One person wrote: ‘I NEED to know what goes through people’s heads while they are actively piping on what is clearly a note. Are they really just like, “yep, perfect, no concerns whatsoever!”‘
Another commented: ‘As a cake decorator that hurts omg.’
And her insight was quickly flooded with comments from equally stunned viewers – as followers shared their own experiences getting a messed-up cake
Many followers shared their own experiences getting a messed-up cake.
One person wrote: ‘That happened to me. I had it as, “not me turning 30,” and they added the word “it’s” as in, “it’s not me turning 30.”
A second person commented: ‘The same thing happened to my cousins omg. We asked for “happy birthday max in orange” and they wrote that instead of [using] orange icing.’
Someone else added: ‘This happened when my brother was a kid and he wanted a Tom Brady jersey on his cake, and they wrote “happy birthday Tom Brady.”
Another wrote: ‘Same exact thing happened to my sister when she ordered me a cake from Safeway LMAO. They put “27 in the middle.”
The content creator then posted snapshots of herself holding a new cake with updated frosting that read: ‘Aries baby’
A fifth person added: ‘One time I ordered a cake and asked for a picture to be printed on the top – they decided to write it themselves.’
Following the widespread furor, Peyton posted a follow-up slideshow in response to one commenter asking: ‘I’m just wondering if you went back cause…’
The content creator then posted snapshots of herself holding a new cake with updated frosting that read: ‘Aries baby.’
Peyton captioned the post: ‘It still wasn’t small or in cursive, but she did the best she could.’
