Dragons have announced the signing of versatile back Harry Wilson, who will join the Welsh region from Super Rugby Pacific outfit the Waratahs from next season.
The 23-year-old, who can play at centre, wing and full-back, is set to link up with his new team-mates ahead of the 2024/25 United Rugby Championship campaign.
Wilson is a strong and powerful specimen who stands at 6’3″ tall and is the Dragons‘ second confirmed new recruit this week after Tongan back-row Solomone Funaki.
Waratahs debut last year
Wilson made his Super Rugby bow in March 2023 against the Chiefs and turned out for the Waratahs a further seven times during his first senior campaign last year.
The Sydney-born midfielder has again been part of the ‘Tahs squad this season, scoring his first try in their win over the reigning champion Crusaders back in March.
“We’re really excited to bring Harry to Wales and to see the impact he can have in our environment,” said Dragons head coach Dai Flanagan about his newest signing.

“He is a great athlete and talented young centre, who can also operate in the wide channels. The fact he can play multiple positions will be a real asset to us.
“Harry arrives with Super Rugby experience and is a player with a big future. We’re looking forward to seeing him represent the Dragons.”
Harry, the son of former Wallabies captain and World Cup winner David Wilson, cannot wait to join the URC outfit as he looks forward to working with Flanagan.
Looking forward to move
“I’m excited at the prospect of becoming a Dragon and linking up with my new team-mates this summer,” he said.
“I’ve spoken to Dai Flanagan about the club’s vision and targets going forward and look forward to being a big part of a new look squad and testing myself in a new competition. It’s a big opportunity for me to move to Wales and a new challenge that I plan to fully embrace.
“Finally, thank you to my team-mates, the coaches, and fans at the Waratahs for their support over the last few seasons. I’ll be giving absolutely everything for a strong end to this Super Rugby season.”
