Former top aide takes the stand in Trump trial
One of the most prominent witnesses in former US president Donald Trump’s criminal trial has taken the stand.
Hope Hicks, a former top aide, has been asked by the court about a series of key events in the 2016 election campaign.
Mr Trump sat through another day of testimony as prosecutors attempted to prove he falsified business records to help his 2016 campaign.
His campaign secretary, Ms Hicks, took the stand and was questioned about the release of an infamous Access Hollywood tape recorded in 2005.

The judge didn’t allow the tape to be played in court.
Ms Hicks called the tape a “damaging development” and said she was “stunned”.
She was also asked about a Wall Street Journal article about Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels.
