The Los Angeles Chargers have completely revamped their wide receiver room in recent weeks, leaving no room for former players such as Jalen Guyton, who has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. A deal between the sides was agreed upon on Monday and confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Guyton was undrafted out of North Texas in 2019 and began his career with the Dallas Cowboys. After being waived as part of final cuts that summer, he was grabbed by the Chargers and has spent the past five seasons with the team.
His best season came in 2021 when he caught 31 passes for 448 yards and three touchdowns. He tore his ACL in 2022 and never really recovered. For his career, Guyton has 71 receptions for 1,112 yards and seven touchdowns.
He joins a Raiders team that also recently added former Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup. He will be a long shot to make the 53-man roster but being reunited with former Chargers general manager Tom Telesco could bode well for him.
