Edo 2024: Ighodalo’s Guber Ambition Soars as Kinsmen Assure of 100 Percent Delegate Votes

Dr Asuelinme Ighodalo’s governorship ambition soared as the leaders and caucus members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo Central Senatorial District of the state have assured him of their 100 percent delegate votes ahead of the party primaries election scheduled for February 22, 2024.

The people drawn from across the five local government council areas in Edo Central Senatorial Zone, gave the assurance during the formal presentation of the frontline PDP guber aspirant, Ighodalo, to them by the Chairman of the Senatorial Chairman, Archbishop Anthony Okosun in Uromi, Esan North-East local government area amid wide jubilations.

Speaking at the well-attended event, the National Leader of PDP and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi, said that Asue Ighodalo, being a successful Esan son, has all the requisite requirements to take the state to the next level in terms of good governance.

He asserted that it was time for the Edo Central Senatorial Zone to produce a governor, since Edo North and Edo South senatorial districts, have produced theirs for Sixteen years.

Ikimi added that Ighodalo’s coming into political foray, has further rekindled the lost hope, especially in the area of political equity, justice, and fair play to the Esan Land.

He described him as a peacemaker and unifier, noting that all the delegates in Esan Land would give him 100% votes to emerge as the candidate of the party.

Also, a former senator in the senatorial district, Senator Odion Ugbesia, told the frontline aspirant that those leaders he came to meet at home are politicians who determine, design, and promote election victory and political strength for every candidate in the state.

Earlier in his remarks, Asue Ighodalo expressed gratitude to the Senatorial leaders, caucus members, and people of Esan for his endorsement as their sole aspirant for the PDP primary election.

He promised more developments to the people of the state if given the mandate to govern Edo.

Speaking at Irrua in Esan Central Local government area, Barr. Ighodalo thanked the PDP leaders and caucus for trusting him to lead Edo State for the Party.

Ighodalo said that if given the mandate to govern the state, his administration would be people-oriented and project-driven.

The Esan-born astute politician added that he will continually seek advice from the elders, leaders, and the people to move Edo State forward, adding that as a governor, his administration will focus on job creation, education, and agricultural reforms to achieve the desired results.

He, however, assured them that he wouldn’t disappoint the people if given the party ticket, just as he sought their prayers to enable him to sail through all hurdles.
