Filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passes away at 61
Well-known filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan is dead. The filmmaker passed away on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai. He was 61. Sivan is known for making films in Hindi and Malayalam languages. In his long career, Sivan has helmed films like Vyooham, Daddy, Gandharvam, Yodha and Hindi comedy blockbusters like Kya Kool Hai Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money.
Sangeeth Sivan’s brother Santosh Sivan is also a well-known cinematographer-director.
After the news spread about his demise, condolence messages started pouring in on social media.
One of the first was to comment was Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh who has worked with him in several films including Kya Kool Hai Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money.
Ritesh took to X and wrote, “Deeply saddened and shocked to know that Sangeeth Sivan Sir is no more. As a newcomer all you want is someone to believe in you and take a chance.. can’t thank him enough for Kya Kool Hai Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money. Soft-spoken, gentle and a wonderful human being. Am heart broken today, my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, his wife, kids, brothers. I will miss you Da !!!!! And your infectious laughter!!! Rest in Glory….”

Veteran actor Sunny Deol also paid tribute to the late filmmaker and wrote, “Shocked to hear about the passing away of my dear friend @sangeethsivan can’t believe that you are no longer amongst us, but you will always be with us in our hearts and memories. Om Shanti my friend, may your family get the strength to overcome your loss”
