Far Eastern University stayed in contention for a semifinals bonus in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament.
The Lady Tamaraws dispatched the University of the East Lady Warriors, 25-19, 25-15, 22-25, 25-16, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, April 17, to raise their win-loss record to 8-4.
FEU, however, remained in fourth place behind National University, La Salle and University of Santo Tomas who all have a 10-2 mark.
To have a chance to finish in the top two and have a twice-to-beat incentive in the semifinals, FEU needs to win its two remaining games and hope that NU, La Salle and UST lose theirs.
FEU’s win on Wednesday was led by Chen Tagaod who scored 21 points.
The Lady Warriors, on the other hand, was led by Casiey Dongallo who collected 17 points, 10 excellent digs, and eight receptions for the already-eliminated Lady Warriors, who fell to a 2-10 record, second to the last in the 8-team league.
