The media watchdog has launched an impartiality investigation into Rishi Sunak’s recent appearance on GB News.

The programme, titled ‘People’s Forum: The Prime Minister‘, saw Mr Sunak take questions from the public in a live Q&A on 12 February.

Ofcom said it had received around 500 complaints about the programme. The watchdog is investigating GB News for potentially breaching Rules 5.11 and 5.12 of the Broadcasting Code.

These rules require that an appropriately wide range of significant views must be included and given due weight in such programmes, or in clearly linked and timely programmes.

This is a breaking story.
