Sky News host Paul Murray says an “extreme majority” of Australians are doing it tough as more Aussies turn to charities for cost-of-living relief.
“An extreme majority of Australians now are under some form of cost-of-living pressure with the best part of almost 80 per cent of people saying they are in financial stress right now,” Mr Murray said.
‘Extreme majority’: Cost-of-living sees Aussies line up ‘around the block’ for charity
“If you don’t believe what I’ve been saying, let’s turn our attention to a sector that this government should be supporting with the $20 billion surplus that it has.
“Obviously they’re not going to cut fuel prices – they should.
“When more people are lining up, literally around the block for things like food to come out of charities … people are seriously doing it tough.”
