Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat firing again at Yadah FC!

Former Kaizer Chiefs talisman is firing again, but this time at Zimbabwean outfit Yadah FC who he joined earlier this year.

After weeks on the sidelines due to injury, Billiat returned to the pitch as Yadah took on Ngezi in the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League on Wednesday.

And Billiat didn’t disappoint as he was on the scoresheet in Yadah’s 2-2 draw away to Ngezi on the night.

The goal marked Billiat’s first since his return to professional football after months in the wilderness.

The attacker found it difficult to find a team after leaving Chiefs in June 2023, so much so that even SuperSport United couldn’t sign him as reported by The South African.

Billiat’s goal for Yadah will certainly help his confidence as he’s been out of the game for a very long period.

It’s worth mentioning that Yadah need Billiat the most at this stage given their position on the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League log.

Yadah find themselves in position 16 on the log with just seven points from their opening eight league games.

They have managed to find the back of the net just eight times while conceding 11 goals in the process, and Billiat is expected to ease their goalscoring woes.

THE FORMER WARRIORS STAR EARNS BIG IN ZIMBABWE

Media reports in previously suggested that Billiat is currently the highest-paid player in the entire Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League.

At 34, Billiat is probably thinking about retirement, and he couldn’t reject an offer that gives him about R95 000 per month as per FarPost.

“And as he returns to Zimbabwe, Billiat is set to become the highest earner in the league, pocketing about R95,500 [US$5 000] per month,” reads the report.

“In securing Billiat’s signature, Yadah FC splashed R378,000 [US$20 000] in signing-on fees for Billiat, who was a free agent.

“Although, there is a massive difference between what he earned at Chiefs, Billiat set a record in Zimbabwe. The majority of football players in the country earn less than R20,000,” continued the report.
