Alternatively, players can purchase the skin from the Item Shop, debuting in the Myths & Monsters season.
The Ascendant Midas skin features an armored body plate with grey, black, and gold highlights, as well as a huge belt and a Golden King’s Cape. The outfit is quite mythological and Godly and exudes power and excellence. What’s also interesting about this outfit is the fact it’s Fortnite’s first Item Shop Legendary skin since Chapter 2 Season 7.

The Icebound Midas clothing is somewhat frozen, and his pickaxe exudes a cool mist. Players cannot purchase the Icebound Midas individually. They must purchase the Black Ice Legends pack for 2,500 V-Bucks, which comes with two additional cosmetic skins, three pickaxes, and two back blings.
Shadow Midas
The Midas Touch Just Got Ghoulish
- Introduced In: Chapter 2, Season 8
- Cost: 1,500 V-Bucks
- Release Date: October 29, 2021
It’s a spooky time to be a Midas fan, as Shadow Midas arrived alongside the Fortnitemares update for Halloween. Chapter 2, Season 8 saw the return of Midas in a ghostly form, positively glowing with a purple essence and hands that could most certainly turn Loopers into haunting phantoms to attack the players that still remain alive on the island.
Shadow Midas was basically just Midas for players who did not get him in the Chapter 2, Season 2 Battle Pass, but that’s not a bad thing, as the exclusivity of Battle Pass skins has been controversial for some time now, and the fact players could essentially get a purple version of Midas from the Item Shop made everyone happy.
Midas Rex
Midas As An Iron Man-Inspired Character
- Introduced In: Chapter 2, Season 4
- Cost: $29.99 (The Last Laugh Bundle)
- Release Date: November 18, 2020
Midas Rex is a Legendary outfit in Fortnite that was first introduced in Chapter 2, Season 4. The outfit features Midas wearing a golden armored suit with a skull helmet. Players can also unequip the helmet if they want to show Midas’ face. Midas Rex is the only Midas outfit without the ability to turn weapons gold upon equipping them, and this is due to the fact that his hands are covered in his armored suit.
Midas Rex is part of the Last Laugh Set bundle, which players can purchase from the Item Shop for $29.99. This set also includes cosmetics for DC Comics’ The Joker and Poison Ivy, but the relation to Midas Rex is unknown, as well as what Midas has to do with the “last laugh”.
Golden Gear Midas
Midas As An Anime-Inspired Character
- Introduced In: Chapter 3, Season 4
- Cost: $19.99 (Anime Legends Pack)
- Release Date: October 14, 2022
Golden Gear Midas is an Epic outfit in Fortnite that’s part of the Anime Legends Set. The character’s clothing includes a bright yellow jacket paired with a black and grey pair of pants and yellow gloves. The default Golden Gear Midas style has no helmet, but players can choose the helmeted version, which features a red and yellow mask covering Midas’s entire face. Note that despite its name, the Golden Gear Midas isn’t part of the gold-themed Fortnite skins.
To obtain the Golden Gear Midas skin, players must purchase it physically from retailers or digitally in the Item Shop for $19.99. While this skin is currently not available, Fortnite often vaults and unvaults content regularly. So, it’s likely it may return to the Item Shop in the future. Even though the Golden Gear Midas skin isn’t among the best anime skins in Fortnite, it’s undoubtedly one of the best Midas skins for anime lovers.
Midsummer Midas
A Beach-Inspired Outfit
- Introduced In: Chapter 2, Season 7
- Cost: 1600 V-Bucks
- Release Date: June 24, 2021
