Everton vs Liverpool Predicted Lineups: Potential XI for both teams

The Merseyside derby is already a big game, but considering the position that both Liverpool and Everton find themselves in respectively at this point in the Premier League season, it’ll be even bigger this Wednesday night.

The Reds head to Goodison Park for the last time under Jurgen Klopp, and getting three points is the only acceptable result if they are to keep the pressure on Arsenal and Man City in the title race.

It won’t be simple, as Everton under Sean Dyche are fighting to secure their survival in the league with just 30 points and the potential of a third points deduction looming.

So, here are our predicted lineups for this massive game that could decide the season for both sides.

Klopp has some big decisions to make in attack, with Diogo Jota a must-start given he got himself back on the scoresheet against Fulham. Luis Diaz is likely to take residence back on the left flank, while Salah should be offered the chance to continue his fantastic record against the Toffees.

Liverpool Predicted XI

The Reds have two games to consider this week when looking at potentially rotating the squad, with a 12:30 kickoff (of course it is) against West Ham on Saturday (April 27th).

Here is how we see the XI:

  • Goalkeeper and Defence: We think Alisson will guard the net, flanked by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson as full-backs, with Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk central.
  • Midfield: We’re expecting the midfield trio to be Harvey Elliott starting alongside Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister.
  • Attack: In attack, Diogo Jota, who got his name on the scoresheet against Fulham, will likely lead the line with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz on the wings.

Liverpool predicted XI vs Everton (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Jota, Diaz.

Everton Predicted XI

As you’d expect from a Sean Dyche side, Everton will likely be coming into the game extremely cautious, trying to nick something on the break.

The Toffees will likely be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, so we’re expecting Demarai Gray to be tasked with leading the line, supported by Anthony Gordon and Alex Iwobi on the flanks.

Beyond that, Lewis Dobbin is unavailable and Seamus Coleman is a major doubt, whilst Beto won’t be featuring at all after suffering a head injury against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Everton predicted XI vs Liverpool: Pickford, Coleman, Mina, Keane, Digne, Allan, Doucouré, Gomes, Gordon, Gray, Iwobi.
