eThekwini mayor presents State of the City to empty seats

DURBAN – eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda has delivered the State of the City address to just a handful of councillors.
IFP and EFF councillors boycotted the event.
They say they didn’t want to participate in a whitewashed address that ignores issues plaguing the city.

But Kaunda says the current administration has made the municipality better.
Opposition parties that were present say the mayor’s speech was a repeat of last year’s.
The city will present its budget on Friday.
