MANILA, Philippines: Phoenix sustained its energy from start to finish to deal NLEX a sound 112-77 beating on Saturday as the Fuel Masters pumped life back to their PBA Philippine Cup playoff bid at the Ynares Arena in Pasig.
Veteran guard RJ Jazul led Phoenix’s blazing offense as he finished with 19 points, highlighted by an impressive 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range to help the Fuel Masters improve to 3-5 overall.
Rookie Ken Tuffin knocked down all three of his three-point attempts to finish with 17, while Jayjay Alejandro added 16 points for Phoenix, which shot 52 percent from the field.
The boys of coach Jamike Jarin also outrebounded the Road Warriors, had more assists, 29-16 and held a 55-41 edge in bench points.
Enoch Valdez led NLEX with 16 markers, while ace guard Robert Bolick struggled and scored just 11 pointe on 3-of-13 shooting.
The Road Warriors dropped their second straight game and fell to 5-3.
