The transgender trailblazer – who’s turning 37 next month – dressed his petite 5ft1in frame in a khaki-and-black corduroy jacket over a black t-shirt, brown trousers, and black hiking boots.

Elliot – whose gender affirmation was in 2020 – accessorized with a black beaded necklace, a matching messenger bag, and a pair of Apple AirPods.

Page’s street sighting came the day after trans director Ary Zara publicly thanked him for his ‘faith and generosity’ executive producing his short film An Avocado Pit, which made it on the Oscars short list.

Unfortunately, the 19-minute drama about a trans woman and a cis man meeting in Lisbon failed to land an Academy Award nominations for best live-action short film when they were announced on January 23.

‘While the nomination eluded us, the journey itself was extraordinary, successfully fulfilling our primary goal – to share this compelling story with as many hearts as possible,’ Ary wrote on Instagram.

‘In these past few days, I found myself longing to be among the final five, a desire I didn’t have before. Being so close to something that always looked so far ignited a desire within me that might take some time to cool down.’

On January 16, the Pageboy Productions founder’s indie film Close to You – his first starring role in a movie in seven years – scored a US distribution deal with Greenwich Entertainment for a summer release, according to Deadline.

Elliot wrote, produced, and stars as Sam – a transgender man who returns to his Lake Ontario hometown – in Dominic Savage’s mostly improvised drama.

‘This was a complete highlight of my career, personally,’ Page – who scored an Oscar nod for Juno in 2007 – told People on September 11.

‘[Dominic’s] process, the experience of making a film in this way is not something I’ve done before. I feel grateful to be a part of his work and hope to do it again.’

The Gucci Beauty brand ambassador concludes his role as sound superhero/violinist Viktor Hargreeves aka The White Violin in the six-episode fourth (and final) season of The Umbrella Academy, which premieres later this year on Netflix.

Elliot executive produced D.W. Waterson’s feature directorial debut Backspot – hitting limited US theaters later ths year – which stars Evan Rachel Wood, Devery Jacobs, and Kudakwashe Rutendo.

Page will voice idealistic humanitarian aid worker Victoria Walker in Jay Oliva’s long-delayed Ark: The Animated Series, a small-screen adaptation of the 2015 video game Ark: Survival Evolved.

The film – scheduled to hit US theaters in ‘late 2024’ – will also feature the voice talents of Michelle Yeoh, Russell Crowe, Vin Diesel, Jeffrey Wright, Gerard Butler, Malcolm McDowell, and Alan Tudyk.

On the personal front, the Pageboy: A Memoir author’s divorce from Canadian dancer Emma Portner was finalized in 2021 after two years of marriage.
