El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional emitió alertas naranja y amarilla por tormentas

El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) emitió esta tarde alertas de nivel naranja y amarillo por tormentas fuertes y de menor intensidad para las provincias de Formosa, Misiones, Salta, Tucumán, Jujuy y Chaco.

La alerta naranja rige para el norte de Salta, oeste de Formosa y norte de Misiones. El área será afectada por tormentas, algunas localmente fuertes o severas, y estarán acompañadas por ocasional caída de granizo, fuerte actividad eléctrica, intensas ráfagas y fundamentalmente abundante caída de agua en cortos períodos.

Se estiman valores de precipitación acumulada entre 80 y 110 milímetros (mm), pudiendo ser superados en forma puntual. Por el nivel naranja, que implica “fenómenos meteorológicos peligrosos para la sociedad, la vida, los bienes y el medio ambiente”.

¿Cuáles son las recomendaciones ante las fuertes tormentas?

El SMN recomendó a la población permanecer en construcciones cerradas como casas, escuelas o edificios; mantenerse lejos de artefactos eléctricos y evitar el uso de teléfonos con cable; en caso de estar viajando, quedarse en el interior del vehículo; evitar circular por calles inundadas o afectadas; y si hay riesgo de que el agua ingrese en las viviendas, cortar el suministro eléctrico.

¿A quiénes afecta la alerta amarilla?

Por tormentas de menor intensidad se encuentra vigente una alerta amarilla para la totalidad de la provincia de Tucumán, centro de Formosa, centro y sur de Misiones, norte, centro y sureste de Salta, norte y centro de Chaco y gran parte de Jujuy.

El área será afectada por lluvias y tormentas aisladas, algunas localmente fuertes, y se podrán desarrollar ráfagas intensas, ocasional caída de granizo, y principalmente por abundante caída de agua en cortos períodos con valores de precipitación acumulada entre 20 y 80 mm, pudiendo ser superados en forma puntual.

El nivel amarillo hace referencia a “posibles fenómenos meteorológicos con capacidad de daño y riesgo de interrupción momentánea de actividades cotidianas”, precisó el SMN.

Para los habitantes bajo alerta, el organismo nacional recomendó no sacar la basura; evitar actividades al aire libre; no refugiarse cerca de árboles y postes de electricidad que puedan caerse; no permanecer en playas, ríos, lagunas o piletas; y prestar atención ante la posible caída de granizo.
