PETALING JAYA: Dahlan Maamor, a former political secretary to DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook, joined Bersatu today.
In a Facebook post, Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin said Dahlan contacted him last week expressing interest in joining the party and its struggle.
“Dahlan is a former media practitioner who is critical and honest in giving his opinion or criticism,” Hamzah said. “Welcome to Bersatu.”
Dahlan was political secretary to Loke from 2018 to 2020 when the Seremban MP was in his first stint as transport minister, serving under the Dr Mahathir Mohamad-led Pakatan Harapan government.
He was also the host of a Bernama TV segment called “Ruang Bicara” previously.
Dahlan was suspended from Bernama in 2016 after he shared a posting on Facebook from lawyer Adnan Seman, who said the then prime minister Najib Razak should consider resigning from the top post.
