MANILA, Philippines: Tennis ace Alex Eala of the Philippines has reached a new career high in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) world rankings.
From 172nd last week, Eala climbed three places to 169th in the women’s singles rankings.
This is Eala’s best placing since March 18, when she ranked 171st.
She is currently in Portugal, taking part in another International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament.
She will play in the women’s doubles event with Australian partner Taylah Preston. They will face America’s Varvara Lepchenko and Belarus’ Aliona Falei on Wednesday night (Manila time).
Eala ranks 245th in women’s doubles, which is also her career best.
