Dwight Howard claims he’s 6’9, making him eligible to play as PBA import
DWIGHT Howard stood firm on his actual height despite being registered as a 6-foot-10 big man when wearing shoes.
Upon experiencing several flight delays in his forthcoming trip to Manila to suit up for Strong Group Athletics (SGA), the former NBA champion spent some time on social media platform X to interact with his Filipino fans.

Should Howard consider the possibility to play in the PBA, he’ll have to overcome a fair bit of roadblocks — including the league’s 6’9 height ceiling.
Strong Group’s soon-to-be talisman is officially listed as 6’10 while wearing shoes. The PBA, however, measures the height of players barefoot.
Apart from what would unsurprisingly be a hefty price tag to secure Howard’s services, the league’s height limit stands firm in the way of a prospective PBA stint — unless such a ceiling would soon be shattered.
But until then, it’s all about boosting Strong Group’s bid in the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship where he’ll be playing with ex-Gilas Pilipinas big man Andray Blatche, former Oklahoma City Thunder standout Andre Roberson, and ex-PBA import McKenzie Moore, with Australia and ex-Bay Area Dragons head coach Brian Goorjian as team consultant.
Homegrown talents set to join forces with Howard, mostly hailing from Taft schools La Salle and College of St. Benilde are UAAP Season 86 MVP Kevin Quiambao, Francis Escandor, Allen Liwag, Tony Ynot, and Justine Sanchez alongside top collegiate coaches Charles Tiu and Topex Robinson.
