Dubai flooding leaves A-League leaders stranded

Central Coast Mariners have been left stranded and forced to postpone a crucial A-League fixture against Adelaide, as floods in Dubai continue to wreak havoc.

After a gruelling 1-1 AFC Cup draw against Abdysh-Ata Kant in Kyrgyzstan earlier this week, the Aussie club were on their way home when the major disruptions began.

Due to a chaotic weather event in Dubai, the side has been stuck in huge travel delays and their scheduled fixture with Adelaide on Sunday has been scrapped.

The flooding is some of the worst the UAE city has ever seen, with the record-breaking rain disrupting flights and killing at least 20 people in the region.

Central Coast Mariners have been caught up in the major flooding in Dubai.

Central Coast are yet to touch back down in Australia and at this stage, there has been no indication of when the clash between the Mariners and Adelaide will take place.

The team sit atop the A-League ladder, equal with Wellington Phoenix on 49 points.

The second tie for the AFC Cup inter-zonal finals is slated for April 24 at Central Coast Stadium, but there could be further changes forced given the horrific weather.
