Dreadful White Sox expected to make plethora of trades

General manager Chris Getz and the White Sox are gearing up for Chicago’s second annual trade deadline flash sale.
Amid one of the worst starts in MLB history, the White Sox are already looking to trade several starters to rebuild.
In March, Chicago traded ace right-hander Dylan Cease to the Padres for three of San Diego’s top-10 prospects and reliever Steven Wilson. On Wednesday, the White Sox traded veteran outfielder Robbie Grossman to the Texas Rangers for minor league right-hander Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa.
Earlier this week, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported the White Sox expected to trade starting pitchers Erick Fedde, Chris Flexen, Mike Clevinger as well as reliever Michael Kopech and DH Eloy Jiménez. Chicago is also hoping to trade outfielder Tommy Pham, who has only been with the White Sox for a week.
Kopech and Jiménez are the only two players rumored to be on the trade block who have been with the White Sox organization for a significant period of time.
Last season, the White Sox made a flurry of trades, dealing Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo López, Joe Kelly, Lance Lynn, Kendall Graveman and Jake Burger for top-tier prospects.
Getz has made it clear the team is willing to listen about dealing any of its players.
Two years removed from an AL Central title, the White Sox hold the worst record in the majors at 8-28 heading into Wednesday’s game at the Rays.
The trades are a clear signal Chicago is in the midst of a major organizational rebuild, with a focus on building its farm system.
As of mid-April, the White Sox had the third-best farm system in the big leagues. Chicago has three prospects ranked on the MLB Top 100: shortstop Colson Montgomery (No. 8), left-hander Noah Schultz (No. 45) and right-hander Drew Thorpe (No. 76).
