J.J. McCarthy is rising up plenty of draft boards heading into the 2024 NFL Draft next week.
It was once thought that he may not go in the first round of the draft but now, he may go inside the top 10.
That has former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb a bit concerned.
“Listen, I love what Harbaugh was able to do at Michigan. There was a couple years ago when everyone wanted Harbaugh fired because he couldn’t beat Ohio State; and all of a sudden, he’s beating Ohio State and everybody else. Now he’s in the national championship game, but to me, J.J. McCarthy – I just see him being a guy that people three years from now are going to say, ‘Was he really worth drafting?’” McNabb said, (first transcribed by FOX News).
McCarthy had a massive season in 2023 and helped Michigan win its first national title since 1997. Michigan didn’t lose a single game during the season.
McCarthy finished with 2,991 yards through the air, 22 touchdowns, and only four interceptions.
There’s quite a few quarterback-needy teams heading into the draft and despite McNabb’s reservations, McCarthy looks poised to be picked high in the first round.
