SOME 398 graduating students from the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University College of Education (DMMMSU CE) South La Union campus took the National Aptitude and Normative Test for Educators (Nante) on Friday, April 12.

Maricon Viduya, DMMMSU Strategic Communications director, said the university collaborated with Carl Balita Review Center (CBRC) La Union branch manager Roanne dela Cruz to provide the students with Nante.

Nante is a comprehensive assessment tool that evaluates graduating students’ general and professional education knowledge, Viduya said.

The assessment, Viduya added, consists of two 100-item tests similar to actual board examination questions, and it is aligned with the Professional Regulatory Commission’s Table of Specifications.

Viduya said that besides assessing the educational outcomes and current performance of the teacher education program, Nante also acts as a screening process for the merit scholarship entrusted to CBRC by Sen. Bong Go through the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Tulong Dunong Program.

The CHEd Tulong Dunong Program scholarship provides a financial grant of P7,500 to qualified graduating students within the semester upon university recommendation and compliance with program requirements.

“The Nante which is a strategic academic partnership between CBRC and DMMMSU College of Education prepares students for professional licensure examinations and promotes a culture of academic excellence and accountability within the institution,” Viduya said.

The examination was facilitated by DMMMSU CE Performance Enhancement Course Audit facilitator Alfred Fuentes Jr., teaching internship coordinator Juliet Nimua, and this semester’s PECA instructors.
