A delivery driver has been blasted after he was captured dumping a parcel on the ground just seconds before he was caught red-handed.

In footage of the careless delivery, the courier was seen dropping the package on the ground instead of the letterbox or at the front door.

He turned to leave, but not before the homeowner caught him in the act.

As the man walked over to collect his package, the courier quickly picked it up and handed it over with an apologetic smile.

The unhappy customer shared the video to social media Thursday with the caption: ‘How my Speedpak delivery arrived yesterday. Thanks eBay’.

Dozens of disgruntled Aussies shared similar stories in the comments.

‘Thought he was going to just roll down the passenger window and throw it, had that done before,’ one person said.

‘I’ve had the same thing but instead the driver tossed it at my door from the road,’ a second commented.

A third shared: ‘Happens to every second delivery I get now, no care is given.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted eBay for comment.

It comes after an Australia Post employee was fired after he dumped a parcel on the footpath outside the wrong address.

Adding insult to injury, the delivery driver then sent the woman a photo of the package in a ‘safe place’ on the path as proof it had been delivered.

The woman complained to Australia Post, which took swift action and since has confirmed that the driver no longer works for them.

‘Australia Post has strict protocols in place for the delivery of mail and parcels, and the driver’s actions here clearly did not meet the high standards we expect,’ a spokesperson said.

‘We have been in touch with the customer to apologise and we can confirm the driver involved no longer delivers for Australia Post.’
