David Moyes quickly lands new job just days after West Ham exit announcement
David Moyes has already landed his first job following the announcement he will part ways with West Ham at the end of the season, albeit not in management.
It was revealed earlier this week that the Irons boss would leave the club ‘via mutual consent’ at the close of 2023/24, after more than four years in charge at London Stadium. The former Everton boss already has his next move lined up and offered himself little chance of a break.
Moyes is set to join talkSPORT as part of the broadcaster’s team to provide coverage for EURO 2024. “Give it Moysey for the Euros,” talkSPORT posted on social media to announce their coup. “David Moyes joins the talkSPORT team to provide his expert insight and analysis throughout the tournament.”
The Premier League veteran will be joined by the likes of Emmanuel Petit and Ashley Young in providing coverage this summer. Former adversaries of Moyes, Alan Pardew and Graeme Souness will also be in Germany as part of talkSPORT’s team.
Moyes’ contract with West Ham expires at the end of the season, with the Scottish manager looking back fondly on his time with the club. The 61-year-old helped to deliver the team’s first European trophy in almost half a century.
“I have enjoyed four and a half brilliant years at West Ham, and the Club is in a stronger position than when I returned back in 2019,” said Moyes. “When I joined West Ham for a second time, the Club was one place above the relegation zone, and it has been a terrific journey to have achieved three consecutive seasons in Europe.
“After leading the Club to safety, we guided the team to finishes of 6th and 7th in the Premier League, and I was delighted when we won the Europa Conference League title last June – the Club’s first major trophy in 43 years.

“I would like to thank all the players for their support, and all the success they have achieved, over the last four and a half years. I have really enjoyed working with everyone at West Ham, and I would like to thank the Board for giving me the opportunity to manage this great Club.
