Crazy V12-Powered Quad Bike Has Same Performance As A Bugatti Veyron

  • Engler reveals a V12-powered quad-bike with 1,184 horsepower and 884 lb-ft of torque.
  • Dramatically-styled four-wheeler does 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 250 mph.
  • Just 20 examples will be produced, but there’s no word on pricing yet.

Remember the V10-powered super-quad that debuted a few years ago with a 217 mph top speed? Engler, the company behind that zany creation, has returned with an even crazier concept powered by a 1,184-horsepower V12. That’s a lot of power, outmuscling supercars like the Ferrari SF90 and Lamborghini Revuelto. But what makes this all the more bizarre is that the Engler V12 isn’t a car.

Despite appearances, this is a quad bike. Yes, there is no traditional interior. Instead, the driver straddles the seat like on a conventional quad bike, motorcycle, or jet-ski. Except here, they’ve got a thumping V12 pushing them along. As mentioned, the Engler produces 1,184 hp, with an equally impressive 885 lb-ft of torque.

Supercar-Rivalling Performance

As expected, the claimed performance is blistering. Zero to 62 mph is dispatched in 2.5 seconds, while the top speed is a reported 250 mph. To put that into perspective, this is a quad bike with the same performance as a Bugatti Veyron. Only some people would be brave enough to chase that top speed. Engler hasn’t disclosed where it has sourced the V12 motor but says it will soon. The engine is mated to a specially developed eight-speed dual-clutch ‘microbox’ transmission. It’s still not as quick as electric supercars like the record-breaking Rimac Nevera.

Brand New BAC Mono Supercar Is A Toned-Down Mono R

With a naturally aspirated engine revving to 8,000 rpm, the new BAC Mono should be exquisite to drive.

The boutique brand says the ‘box weighs a mere 66 lbs, making it the lightest transmission that can handle the strain of nearly 1,200 horses. As you’d expect, the Engler V12 is lightweight and tips the scales at just 2,645 lbs. That makes it only 200 lbs heavier than a Mazda MX-5 Miata. Engler achieved this exceptionally low figure using a carbon fiber monocoque chassis covered in 3D-printed carbon graphite body panels.

Dramatic Styling Matches The Performance

Additional weight savings come courtesy of the forged 20-inch wheels, fashioned out of magnesium. They’re wrapped up in Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires sized 245/30 and 305/30 at the front and rear, respectively. Behind the wheels, you’ll find ventilated carbon-ceramic disc brakes with six-piston calipers on the front axle and four pistons at the rear.

It’s a stunning creation. You could be forgiven for thinking the Engler V12 was a conventional supercar from certain angles, but that illusion fades away when viewed from the side. Overall, it puts one in mind of the BAC Mono and similar track toys. The rear end has a hint of Aston Martin, with DB9-style taillights. Five-twin-spoke wheels, painted in gold, provide an interesting contrast to the green paintwork.

Only 20 Examples Will Be Produced

So, what would possess someone to build something like this? And with a V12, no less. According to company CEO Viktor Engler, it’s all about satisfying customers. “Some might say, ‘Why not V6? Why not hybrid or other alternatives?’ The answer is simple: we are committed to delivering nothing but the best to our customers. Our aim is to provide the unique sound, power, and madness that only a V12 can deliver.”

This feat of engineering is bristling with innovation.

Engler plans on producing 20 units, although only 19 will be offered to the public, as the chief executive will be stashing one for himself. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing, but we’re guessing the Engler V12 won’t come cheap. With this much power and performance, customers will happily splurge on this unusual creation.
