College Football Rankings: 2023 CFN Final 1 to 133
There’s still one more game to go in this wild and wacky 2023 college football season, but that part is easy to figure out in our final opinion rankings of all 133 teams.
The top two will be settled on Monday night in some way, so how did the rest of the 131 programs finish?
We do the rankings in two ways at the end. They’re done by the CFN Historical Season Formula which goes from 1 to 133 based on strength of schedules, how many wins and how strong the wins are – those will come out after the national championship.
These are more about a combination of opinion as well as the results of the season including all the bowl results.
So how did we treat the results of a bowl season with so many missing pieces, parts, and wasn’t quite representative of the regular season for several teams?
The games count in the records, right? If you didn’t have all of your main players, it’s not the other team’s fault – go win the game. (HOWEVER, we didn’t punish teams missing a ton of starters for the final score, just the loss itself.)
At the very least we respect the regular season and bowl results as much as humanly possible.
You’ll see as we go through – especially in the top ten – how this all shakes out based on what happened on the field. Here’s a hint – look at LSU’s schedule and dive down the rabbit hole from there.
