Sky News host Chris Kenny has slammed mining billionaire Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest’s push for what he and others call a “carbon solutions levy”.
“In another sign of the climate policy madness that’s infected this once energy-rich nation, Forrest spoke at the National Press Club yesterday, giving us the sort of climate alarmism and economic fairytales that we normally get from the likes of Greta Thunberg and Adam Bandt,” Mr Kenny said.
Chris Kenny slams Andrew Forrest’s push for ‘carbon solutions levy’
“The so-called carbon solutions levy that he supports, a mega carbon tax, would raise $100 billion annually, no doubt $100 billion that would be passed on to consumers.
“But Forrest sees only upside, as if the $100 billion appears from nowhere to subsidise the sorts of green projects that he’s already getting subsidies for.
“There is nothing new about this sort of rhetoric, but it is very strange hearing it from a mining magnate.”
