The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan claims China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi is “kicking sand into the face” of the Albanese government ahead of plans to meet former prime minister Paul Keating.

There are concerns the meeting could potentially overshadow the Albanese government’s diplomatic plans.
Mr Sheridan said China is intentionally meeting with the government’s most “contemptuous critic” about its relations with Beijing to show them “who is boss”.
“I think it is disgraceful by Keating,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“Truly disgraceful for a prime minister to oppose his own government on a matter of national security and connive with the antagonist government.”
