Springboks’ home Test tickets SOLD OUT!

General ticket sales, for the Springboks’ first home Test of the season, opened to the public on 4 March at 9am and were SOLD OUT on the same day.

The Springboks will host Iteland on home soil for the first time since 2016 when they clash for a blockbuster two-Test series to take place at Loftus in Pretoria and Kings Park in Durban.

Tickets for the opening Test of the series between these rival sides went on sale on Monday morning and by the afternoon, it was confirmed that it had been sold out.

This comes two days after Loftus Versfeld hosted 50 026 fans in a record-breaking effort for the URC derby between the Bulls and Stormers.

“It’s the third SOLD OUT test match at Loftus Versfeld in the past three years, which is an amazing sign for rugby in South Africa, and especially Pretoria where rugby fever is at an all-time high,” Blue Bulls Company CEO Edgar Rathbone said.

“With the rivalry between these two amazing test sides growing in stature, fans are in for an absolute treat. I do not doubt that this test selling out in such a short time will have a positive impact on the sales for the remaining test matches to be played in South Africa later this year.”

SPRINGBOKS VERSUS IRELAND RECENT HISTORY

The Springboks and Ireland are currently the top-ranked Test teams in the world and Ireland are the last team to have beaten the world champion South Africans last October.

Ireland are currently on a three-game winning streak against the Boks, having beaten Allister Coetzee and Rassie Erasmus’ teams in Dublin, while handing South Africa their only defeat of the 2023 World Cup in the pool stage match in Paris.
