Chelsea have been rocked by illness to Cole Palmer as Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell return to their injured list ahead of facing Arsenal on Tuesday.

The Blues are again facing difficult circumstances ahead of a trip to the Emirates Stadium just three days after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino remains without the same seven players along with a further three after setbacks at Wembley.

Christopher Nkunku is nearing his return after participating in “partial team training” but remains out of the London derby. Reece James, Lesley Ugochukwu, Romeo Lavia, Robert Sanchez, and Wesley Fofana are also injured.

Chelsea would have liked to rotate their line-up to face Arsenal in their bid to qualify for Europe.

But Djordje Petrovic will continue as goalkeeper behind ba possible back four of Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Cucurella.

The usual midfield three of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher will continue while Raheem Sterling is pushing to return to the front three alongside Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Petrovic; Disasi, Silva, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, Gallagher, Fernandez; Madueke, Jackson, Sterling

Injuries: Nkunku, James, Ugochukwu, Lavia, Sanchez, Fofana, Chilwell, Gusto

Doubts: Palmer
