The Vancouver Canucks are one of seven NHL teams to have all three levels of professional hockey affiliations make their respective postseason.
The Canucks clinched the Pacific Division for the first time in team history with their 4-1 victory last night. They still have a slight chance of being the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
The Abbotsford Canucks had a terrific season with a record of 38-25-5-2. They currently sit in 5th place in the AHL’s Pacific Division with two games remaining against the Calgary Wranglers. They could finish the season as high as 4th place if they win those two games.
The Canucks ECHL affiliate, the Kalamazoo Wings, has made the playoffs with a 38-30-4 record. They finished in 4th place in the Central Division.
The Canucks prospect pool has been on the rise, and with more players turning pro, their success can be found everywhere. With prospects like Arshdeep Bains, Jonathan Lekkerimäki, and Elias Pettersson (D), the AHL and NHL teams will be better off for future and current success.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are scheduled to start this weekend, but there hasn’t been an announcement of when Game 1 will be in Vancouver.
