Canadian rail workers at Canadian Pacific, Canadian National vote to strike

• Canadian railroad workers at Canadian National Railway (NYSE:CNI) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (NYSE:CP) have voted overwhelmingly to strike as early as May 22, according to a statement from the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, the union representing workers.
• The current contract with engineers, conductors, and yard workers at both railroads expired December 31, 2023, and despite six months of negotiations, an agreement on a new contract has not been reached, according to Reuters.
• Union president Paul Boucher claims the two companies were trying to remove rest provisions for operators
